Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is an American chef television personality and former instructor in the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell is host of the Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef, and is also the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, in her Food Network Series Secrets of a Restaurant Cook shows easy to master techniques as well as her distinctive spikey blonde locks. Chef Burrell has also worked in many of New York's best eateries, studied Italian cuisine as well as its traditions. She also participated in Food Network Iron Chef America. When she was growing up in the upstate New York area, Chef Burrell developed a passion for cooking and food at very young. She furthered her interest in food and restaurant by enroling in The Culinary Institute of America after obtaining a degree in English and Communications from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. I loved every minute of being a student at The Culinary Institute of America she states. It was difficult to master about, practice or do all the things I did. After graduation, chef Burrell took a gap year to Italy taking classes at Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and working in La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria and La Bottega del 30 a one Michelin-starred restaurant located in Tuscany. It was during this time that her experience in Italy allowed her to comprehend and appreciate the Italian style of living and the culture which has had an impact on her food and culinary experience. Burrell was on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that brightens children's lives who have difficulties. She also serves as an Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Celebrity Ambassador. she promotes the awareness of juvenile diabetes. In her capacity as a speaker, Burrell makes trips across the country to talk about her love of food and her culinary career. In her journey to culinary excellence, Anne has said, "I feel extremely fortunate to have the opportunity be able to share the passion I have for life with people.

   Heelan was the daughter of Kimball Heelan, an actress and teacher at Lowell Public Schools, and Kevin Heelan, a playwright. Conor is her older brother. Her father was a dramatic actor and was an active Phillips Andover Academy faculty member since 1983. Heelan was an alumni of the Walnut Hill School for the Arts.
